I love Costa Rica. The windsurfing sucks there, but the surfing is amazing.
This year I took my favorite student: Pro Windsurfer from Japan, Miho Tanaka. She is a great windsurfer but did not have much experience in Surfing. And Costa Rica was the perfect place for her to improve her wave riding. I was proud to see her charging and improve her skills session after session.
Some spots like Playa Negra can be high performance but quite busy at time, so we surfed a lot at one of my favorite secret spot. For some reason, and I don’t know why, I never see anybody surf there, so we ended up riding there nearly everyday. I was riding a lot with my new SUPER 7’11 and sometime with my all time favorite short board, the FRUSTONA 5’9.

Costa Rica is one of my regular annual destination where I get my fill of surfing, get to miss windsurfing and get all pumped up for my next wave sailing sessions.
Miho and I are now on our way to Peru for a new adventure and for more great wave to ride.
