RRD International Team rider Ines Correia posted a cool action video about her trip to Dakhla to attend PKRA wave event…
Here are her words about this african kiteboarding experience…
“After starting the year with two months of hard training in Cape Town (South Africa) where I stayed at the RRD house, I headed to Dakhla (Moroccos) for the first competition of the year and the first stop of the PKRA world championship.
As of every year, the first competition is always a test and a check-up on my level and evolution, because last year the tour ended in December in Hawaii and from there until now all the competitors trained in different places and different times, so you don’t know how much the girls evolved and how is the level.
About the spot in Dakhla I loved it! Although not my favorite type of waves because waves are a bit soft and with no wall on it, I felt that evolved dramatically in these conditions and I even ended up adapting very well using my RRD Religion kites and Frustona K-Pro and Salerosa V2 surf boards.
As for the championship, I was very happy because it was one of my best events ever: I caught great waves, making the best scores and although I always enter an event thinking about winning I was not that sad with my second place, because I felt that I got great waves and I’m much stronger and confident with my surfing, just could not give my best in the final.
The final balance of this journey that began with the competition and ended up training on the coast of Dakhla and was very very productive and even got time to do some freestyle with my RRD Poison V2 LTD boards.
I really have to thank TMN and Biostyle
for giving me the opportunity to have this video to remember later
