RRD dominates IFCA Slalom Worlds in Torbole!

2012 IFCA SLalom Worlds come to the end: Andrea Rosati (ITA 0-RRD) winner of round 2 becomes 2012 Masters Slalom Champion! Round 1 winner, Andrea Cucchi (ITA 1) had to settle for second place because “. . . if a tie still remains between two or more boards, they shall be ranked in order of their scores in the last race” (WCR)”. Thomas Fauster (ITA 106) took third overall and Robert Hofmann (ITA11) riding his RRD X-Fire LTD V3 comes fourth overall and 1st grandmaster!

Under the same ruling that applied to the masters, Benoit Jacquier (FRA 23-RRD), second in round 1 and winner of round 2, takes the youth title over Jordy Vonk (NED 69) winner of round 1, second in round 2. Jacek Piasecki (POL 013) took third place. First youth girl was Alizee de Souza (FRA 813-RRD).

Ethan Westera (ARU 4) was the undisputed winner of the Junior Fleet with two firsts. Sadly round 3 didn’t happen for them. Coen Swijnenburg (NED 262) was second and Simon Jacquier (FRA 32-RRD) was third. Emily Hall (GBR 714) was first Junior Girl.
In the girls alone fleet, Lisa El Mouahidine (FRA 931-RRD) came out top with two bullets, Emilie Lallement (FRA 494) was second, taking a bullet in the second round. Andrea Vanhoorne (BEL 26-RRD) was third.

In the Under 13 category was Francesco Scagliola (ITA 353-RRD) the World Championship winner, with Roberto Romano (ITA2000-RRD) on the 3rd stage.

A big thanks go to the whole RRD Race Team who always keeps the RRD flag flying high in every kind of competition and achieved a really great result during this IFCA Slalom Worlds. A big thanks also to Circolo Surf Torbole for their great hospitality.

È Andrea Rosati (RRD- Gaastra) il nuovo Campione Mondiale Slalom Master IFCA 2012. La vittoria è arrivata a Torbole nell’ultimo giorno della competizione che per una settimana ha tenuto col fiato sospeso il mondo del windsurf. Dopo un continuo testa a testa e la finale, combattutissima, tra i due master Cucchi e Rosati vincitori entrambi di un tabellone nelle scorse giornate, è stato il romano Rosati, già campione italiano wave, ha mettere a segno il colpaccio. “Grande soddisfazione – ha commentato – e anche se il vento non è stato costante dal primo all’ultimo giorno, ha regalato momenti di adrenalina pura confermando Torbole come uno dei migliori spot al mondo per il windsurf”. A condividere il podio con Rosati e Cucchi,Thomas Fauster, meritato terzo posto per l’atleta del Circolo Surf Torbole, cui va il merito di aver realizzato un mondiale da record. Con 150 iscritti provenienti da 22, in rappresentanza di ben 5 continenti.

Nella categoria Youth il francese Benoit Jacquier (RRD- Loft Sails) ha superato l’olandese Jordy Vonk aggiudicandosi il titolo mondiale di categoria, mentre negli Junior la vittoria è andata a Ethan Westera di Aruba.
Fra le ragazze, Alizee de Souza (FRA 813-RRD) arriva prima nella classifica Youth, mentre Lisa El Mouahidine (FRA 931-RRD) si aggiudica la classifica Girls.

Pasta Party e premiazioni hanno concluso nell’enstusiasmo generale un momento di sport molto sentito per il territorio altogardesano. Torbole si conferma al top delle aspettative: perfetta l’organizzazione del Cst, che ha realizzato un evento di altissimo livello, ottima l’accoglienza da parte della comunità locale. Si pensi che un’intera squadra di atleti è stata ospitata da una famiglia di residenti! Grande passione e grande amore per il windsurf la ricetta del successo di questi mondiali Ifca Master, Youth, Junior, Girls che hanno trovato a Torbole lo spot ideale.
