Here’s some more good news for RRD as the RRD boards got the first places in both categories and in the end claimed 3 places on the podium with Filipe Meira winning again the 12’6 class with me (Rui Meira) in second finishing the 15km race between the beautiful landscape of the Berlenga Island and Peniche world recognized for the great waves and the Rip Curl Pro Portugal. In the all around class Rui Meira Senior took first place using a Wassup 11′ so it was a great event for us as a family and agreat event to share with the people form the Penisula Peniche Surf Club making possible for us to cross this amazing channel with a lot of wind, waves and current.During the first day we also had competition with me taking 4th place on the wave event with some of the hardest conditions for surfing. Note to myself: Start loving 20 knots onshore winds for SUP surfing… Hope to get better on the next event and i’m loving the passion coming from surfers in Portugal and hopefully the sport will continue to kick off has we always believed in.
Peace
Rui Meira
