The new RRD paddle collection is on line!
The RRD paddle collection is completely renewed. All paddles in the range have been designed to ensure maximum efficiency and performance. This year we decided to reduce the blades surface, because even with a smaller size blade, you can maximize the efficiency of your stroke with minimal shoulder stress. The entire collection has been developed to move a large quantity of water while maintaining a light and fast stroke and giving the board a steady flow. The new paddle collection is divided in six different categories depending on the use, gender, weight of the rider and type of riding.

La Misteriosa SUP race 2018 Arguineguin, Gran Canaria
On March 24th, La Misteriosa SUP Pro & Amateur International Race was held at Las Marañuelas beach in the south of the island of Gran Canaria organized by C.D. La Misteriosa Gran Canaria, together with Mogán City Council. The members of the organization greeted the sunrise on the beach with frenetic activity, setting the complete infrastructure for the race. Already in these first moments of the day you could see the conditions were going to be perfect, as the morning was breaking with completely clear sky, calm sea and almost no wind. At 8 in the morning everything was ready to receive the participants. With the arrival of the first competitors you could really feel the excitement in the air. At 9:45 everything was ready to start the race, with almost 50 registered competitors from the Canary Islands, mainland Spain, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Norway and France.
At 10:00 the first Skippers Meeting of the day began for the Amateur and Pro category. All the competitors were getting their boards ready for the start. These two categories share the same circuit of 4 km distance, starting in Arguineguín paddling along the coast of the municipality of Mogán to Barranco de la Verga and back. The amateur race was 2 laps (8 km) and the professional race of 4 laps (16km) with 60 feet long beach run between laps.
The start of Amateur and Pro category was held at 10:15. There were more than 35 competitors prepared on the starting line. When the director of the regatta blew the horn to start the race all the participants ran about 10 meters carrying the boards to the water and began paddling to pass first buoy at the embouchure of Playa de Marañuelas, heading towards Patalavaca Beach, continuing to Playa de la Verga, where buoy of turn was located. First participants of professional category appeared about 24 minutes later to make first beach run at the Marañuelas Beach to start the second of the four rounds.
After 1 hour and 46 minutes, the first rider of the professional category Paolo Marconi (IT) reached the finishing line with a 14-foot board, followed very closely with only one minute difference by the second competitor, Esteban Medina from Gran Canaria. First classified in the female category was Susak Molinero (SP) racing on 12.6 board, who took only 1 hour 54 minutes to cover the 16 km distance. Young German NSP rider Noelani Sach won the 14´´ female category and German rider Moritz Mauch who lives in Gran Canaria won 12,6 category.
At 13 hours all competitors received lunch.
The Skippers Meeting of the technical circuit for children SUB 16 and SUB 14, and popular takes place at 1:45 pm and at 2:00 pm started punctually. The participants in popular paddled two laps of the circuit of one kilometre and SUB 16 and SUB 14 three.
Both SUB16 and SUB 14 podium was owned by the children of the Second Reef SUP club located in Gran Canaria.
The last event of the day was dedicated to a group of 9 adults with psychic disabilities who participated in the SUP initiation designed by and for them. Alba García, a psychologist and participant in the Amateur race, supervised the team of instructors composed of Stano Hubacek, the president of SUP Club La Misteriosa, along with some members of the club and competitors such as Paolo Marconi, Susak Molinero and Jaran Rodriguez. All of them devoted themselves body and soul to this activity. It was really pleasant to show everyone that SUP is an inclusive sport that can be adapted to any person. The 9 participants received a medal praising them for their bravery and ability to excel. This activity was the highlight of a magnificent day that culminated at 16:00 hours with the delivery of medals and prices.
